A few minor issues

Hello everyone,

I have a few minor issues with the program that I’m trying to figure out.

The issues are:

  1. The rCloneView application icon does not appear in my system tray. It’s just a blank box. I can still left/right click the blank box and do all the normal operations; however, I can’t see the picture icon at all.

  2. When I close the application via the GUI, the program still lives on in my system tray. I then have to manually right-click and quit the program to fully kill it. Not a big issue, but I have the setting “Stop rClone on App Exit” marked as checked. Does this only kill the actual rClone process and not the rCloneView application itself?

These issues are minor, but combined together create a bit of an annoyance. I love the program otherwise. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Algec22, and welcome to the community! :waving_hand:

Thank you for the detailed report — these are both helpful catches.

  1. Tray icon not displaying — We’ll investigate this. If we’re able to identify and resolve the issue, we’ll release a hotfix as soon as possible.

  2. App staying in tray after closing — You’re correct that “Stop rclone on App Exit” only terminates the rclone process itself, not RcloneView. We’ll be adding a separate option to fully quit the application on close, so you won’t need to right-click the tray to exit manually.

Stay tuned for the fix — and thanks again for taking the time to write this up!

My RcloneView tray icon is also not displaying since the 1.4 release. It worked fine in 1.3. I’m on Windows 11.

The 1.4 release notes specify that the tray icon color on Windows can now be modify but I don’t see the option, it may be related ?

The hotfix has just been released. Please update to v1.4.23.
