How can we use encrypted config files with RcloneView?
I tried to look around, but could not find any information on this.
I have lifetime license for RcloneView, but now don’t really use them because I can’t seem to find a way to use encrypted config files.
Would love to start using RcloneView again.
Thanks for your help!
Hi mesastairs,
Great news — RcloneView already supports encrypted config files!
How to encrypt your rclone config:
In your terminal, run:
rclone config
Then select s) Set configuration password and follow the prompts to set your password. This will encrypt your existing config file in place.
How to use it in RcloneView:
Go to Settings → Embedded Rclone → Advanced Options → Config Password, enter the same password, then click Restart Embedded Rclone.
That’s it — RcloneView will decrypt and use your encrypted config seamlessly.
Let us know if you have any issues!
Thanks, RcloneView Team
Awesome, thanks!!! Glad this works
