Support for Proton Drive

Hi,

It does not look as though Proton Drive is still supported, as it is not on the Remote drive list. I am running Linux Mint. Google Drive works fine. Does anyone know when this feature will return?

I believe this is on Proton. There was a developer/contributor working on getting rclone to work with proton and it was working for a while but changes were made (presumably on Proton’s end) and it broke. I’m not 100% if the contributor is still even working on it. And if you visit the proton drive subreddit, you’ll notice plenty of unhappy drive users. Proton does not officially support rclone either.

I have been using Koofr as an rclone destination with great success. Koofr has “vault” storage that is zero knowledge encrypted and rclone ‘crypt’ works really well with it. I use it all the time. Also, Filen’s rclone support is in beta. I have not tried the Filen/rclone beta but I’ve read it is working. Personally I’ve given up on proton drive for now, but will check back in 6 months or a year.

Thanks @wait_what for the detailed context — that aligns with what we’ve seen as well.

Just to add: Proton Drive support is currently broken on the rclone side, not in RcloneView. The underlying issue is being tracked here on GitHub:

Until rclone restores compatibility, Proton Drive won’t appear in RcloneView’s remote list. We’re monitoring the issue, but at the moment there’s no confirmed timeline from the rclone contributors or Proton.

We’ll re-enable Proton Drive in the UI once rclone resolves the underlying problem.
