System Tray Icon not shown in Linux Mint Cinnamon desktop

Hello Team,

It looks like the feature for RcloneView to live in the system tray is not working on Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon 6.6.6. I am using the XApp Status Applet for my system tray (for applications which use XAppStatusIcons).

It may be related that I keep getting the below notice, even though I am not running in a Gnome desktop.

I have RcloneView 1.3.551 x86 64-bit installed from a .deb package.

I also have this problem - newly installed Rclone View on Linux Mint Cinnamon desktop - no system tray icon. Plus I have the GNOME extension installed.

Hello Jeff, Thank you for the detailed report — this was very helpful! You’re right that the AppIndicator extension is for GNOME, not Cinnamon. We identified this as a bug and have just released a fix. Please update to version 1.3.553 which adds proper tray icon support for Linux Mint Cinnamon: rclone_view-1.3.553+1-linux-x86_64.deb You can install it with: bash sudo dpkg -i rclone_view-1.3.553+1-linux-x86_64.deb After installing, the tray icon should work …
